BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester boys soccer team came up short to Batavia 2-1 Thursday in a non-league match at Barbour Memorial Field.
Blanchester, 3-3-1 on the year, trailed 1-0 at halftime but quickly tied the match on a set piece with Topher Farrow finishing for the goal.
Despite back-to-back blocks by BHS keeper Dakota Penquite, Batavia regained the lead at 2-1, Blan coach Troy Ballinger said.
Penquite finished the match with 18 saves.
