BHS girls soccer tops Felicity for 2nd time by 7-0 score

BLANCHESTER — For the second time this season, the Blanchester girls soccer team defeated Felicity by a score of 7-0.

Regan Ostermeier recorded her third straight shutout and fifth this season in goal for Blanchester.

Blanchester is now 5-1-3 on the year and 4-0-2 in the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division. Felicity falls to 0-7, 0-5.

The Ladycats started slowly but scored four goals in the last 21 minutes of the first half to take control of the game.

Emma Gundler started the scoring with a long shot that beat the FHS keeper for her first goal of the year. Minutes later Emily Hinkle dribbled through the Cardinals defense before finding the back of the net to make it 2-0.

Chloe Caplinger added a goal with a Sydney Scott assist. Mckenzie Hamm also scored her first goal of the year with a Gundler assist off a corner kick. Blan led 4-0 at halftime.

In the second half, Taylor McQuitty scored two goals, her first with another Gundler assist and her second unassisted after tracking down the ball from a scrum in front of the net, coach Kurt Ballinger said.
