East Clinton JV volleyball sweeps FayCo teams

The East Clinton junior varsity volleyball team picked up a pair of wins this week against Fayette County teams.

On Thursday, East Clinton defeated Washington 25-14, 19-25, 25-23. Coach Samantha McGraw said the entire team played well and battled to the end even when they fell behind.

Sierra Christian had five kills. Victoria Jamison had two kills. Kayla Hall had six aces. Miranda Beener had three aces and a kill. Myah Jones had four aces and two kills. Camille Hughes contributed two aces and two kills. Marah Dunn and Rhylee Luttrell combined for five digs.

On Tuesday, East Clinton defeated Miami Trace 25-17, 25-17.

Hall had three kills, two aces and two digs. Christian and Jamison had two kills each. Beener had three ace and a good match setting the ball, McGraw said. Luttrell and Dunn played well defensively and combined for six digs. Hughes had three kills. Jones had an ace and three kills. Savannah Pritchard came off the bench and had good passes from the back row, the coach said. Megan Stewart also had a good game with her serve receive.
