BHS celebrates Volley For The Cure with win

BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester volleyball team defeated Felicity 25-13, 25-11, 25-14 Thursday in a Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference match at the BHS gym.

Blanchester celebrated its Volley For The Cure event at this match.

“It’s easy when you do events like this to get distracted and play sloppy but the girls did opposite of that,” BHS head coach Jenna Weisflock said. “They came out strong and and they finished strong; didn’t let up at all. Even the girls that came off the bench, went out and got their job done. I’m very proud of how everyone played tonight.”

Blanchester is now 8-7 overall and 3-2 in the league. Felicity is 1-15 overall and 0-6 in the league.

Shelbie Rose had nine points, 20 assists and a kill. Shayla Sicurella had 12 points and two kills. Morgan Oberle had six kills and three blocks at the net. Ally Davis recorded 17 points and four perfect passes.

Asia Baldwin contributed 10 points, 15 kills and a block. Cheyenne Brown had three points, three kills and a block. Stephanie Gerlach had seven perfect passes and 16 points.

Morgan Deless chipped in with an assist and a kill. Serenity Batterson had a perfect pass as did Mandy Gerlach. Becca Elliott had two points and Holly Scott posted three assists. Audrey Heitzman had two points and a block.
