MIAMISBURG — The Clinton-Massie girls golf season ended Wednesday in the Div. II Southwest District tournament at PipeStone Golf Course.

The Lady Falcons were 12th as a team. Clinton-Massie won the sectional championship last week.

“The girls had a great year,” CM coach Tim McGraw said. “We struggled today on a difficult course.”

Gabby Woods posted the low score for Massie with an 86 (42-44) on the par 72 layout. She was nine strokes off the final state qualifying score.

Angela Miller had a 103 (55-48) and Taylor Kropp shot a 116 (61-55). Also for Massie, Jezreel Forand had 119 (62-57) and Kelsey Smith shot 149 (77-72).

Miller, Smith and Forand are seniors.

“We are really gonna miss our three seniors,” McGraw said. “At the same time, this was a great experience for Gabby and Taylor and they know now what it takes to get back and improve on our finish this year.”

The top three teams and top three individuals not on a qualifying team advanced to the district tournament next week.

Individuals who qualified were junior Sarah Willis of Eaton (74, overall tournament medalist), freshman Makenna Jones of National Trail (77) and senior Sammi Blackburn (77) of Monroe.

The state qualifying teams were Versailles 366, Dayton Carroll 373 and Chaminade-Julienne 373.
