Quaker volleyball drops match to Cardinals 3-1

The Wilmington College volleyball team continues to show progress, however, that’s not translating into wins. The Fightin’ Quakers fell to Otterbein, 3-1 (25-12, 25-16, 19-25, 25-14), Tuesday in Ohio Athletic Conference action at Fred Raizk Arena.

It the first time since 2011 Wilmington has won a set from multiple Ohio Athletic Conference teams in the same season.

Freshman Amber Rox tabulated her fifth double-double of the season with 10 kills and 12 digs.

Senior Kara Short distributed 21 assists with six digs and five kills. Freshman setter Alyssa McKenzie returned from an injury to record seven assists in limited action.

Freshman Morgan Householder added eight digs and six kills, while sophomore Sydney Smith had five kills.

Wilmington hosts a tri-match Saturday with Marietta and Ohio Christian.
