Wilmington’s ROB girls win SCOL cross country title

CHILLICOTHE — Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror Middle School girls cross country team won the South Central Ohio League Invitational Wednesday at Rivers Edge Golf Course.

Wilmington had 25 points and Miami Trace scored 31, the only two full teams in the meet.

Clinton-Massie’s Emma Muterspaw was runnerup in the girls in 12:15, which established a new CMMS record. The old mark was 12:35.

Maddy Spiewak was sixth for the Lady Falcons in a personal best 14:21.

For the CM boys, Braydon Green was ninth in a 12:32 (PR), Bryce Hensley 15th in 12:53 (PR), Toby Hayes 30th in 15:10 (PR) and Travis Smith 46th in 18:53.

For the Borror girls, Mackenzie Voges-Pertuset led the way by finishing 10th in 15:00.

Jenna Taylor was 13th in 15:10, Mikala Hatfield 27th in 20:15, Maggie Swarts 16th in 16:01, Angel Newport 23rd in 17:44, Kaylie Taylor 25th in 18:01 and Kadence Estep 29th in 21:22 to help the young Lady Hurricane to the championship.

For the ROB boys, Alex Vail was sixth overall in 12:09 (PR) and James Campbell was ninth in 12:32 (PR).

Also, Ben Baylor ran 14:04 and was 25th, Brandon Walters 16:56 and was 39th, and Tony Wilens ran 17:18 and was 41st.

Chillicothe won the boys race with East Clinton fourth, Borror fifth. Clinton-Massie did not have a full team.
