WHS boys golf season ends at district

BEAVERCREEK — The Wilmington High School boys golf season ended Thursday at the Div. I Southwest District tournament at the Beavercreek Golf Club.

Wilmington’s Drew Carey and Jack Murphy competed as individuals in the tournament.

Murphy, a freshman, had a 93, 44 on the front nine and 49 on the back nine.

Carey, a senior, shot 100, 50 on both sides.

Only the top three individuals not on a state qualifying team advanced to the state tournament. Those players were Lucas Wells of Springfield who shot 73, Jack Wertz of Elder who had 73 and Zach Crawford of Vandalia Butler who had 75.

The top three teams that qualified to the state were Centerville, St. Xavier and Lakota East.
