MARIETTA – Junior Luke Creditt accounted for all three touchdowns in the Wilmington College football team’s 66-20 loss Saturday to Marietta at Don Drumm Stadium in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

Creditt had two rushing touchdowns and a passing score. He was 20-of-29 passing for 229 yards, one touchdown and four interceptions.

Marietta took the lead 39 seconds into the contest and led 37-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Wilmington scored on its first two possessions of the second quarter, both one-yard runs from Creditt. The Pioneers stemmed the tide with a touchdown of their own to push the lead back to 44-14.

Unfazed, Creditt hit junior P.J. Meyer with a 63-yard touchdown pass, but a blocked extra point was taken 98-yard for two points, and Marietta’s lead was 46-20. The Pioneers had a 60-20 lead at halftime.

Meyer finished with a career-high 155 yards on a career-best eight catches. He now has two 100-yard games this season.

Senior Mason Poland had a career-high nine tackles and a blocked extra point. Freshman Bryan Gonzalez added six tackles.

Wilmington (0-6 overall, 0-5 OAC) travels to top-ranked Mount Union 1:30 p.m. Saturday for another OAC contest.
