FRANKLIN — Clinton-Massie opened its bowling season with a boys victory in a high scoring shootout with Franklin at Strike Zone Lanes on Nov. 22.

The Falcons, led by Aric France’s 491 series, had a 2,762 to 2,637 win over Franklin last Tuesday.

France had games of 277 and 214.

The CM girls have just three bowlers and lost to Franklin 2,255 to 632.

The teams did not bowl baker games.

Jennifer Callewaert led Massie with a 250 (115, 135) while Emily Rager had 232 (111, 121) and Kylie Harvey had 150 (60, 90).

“The varsity girls team consists of three bowlers, which is a huge disadvantage when bowling other teams,” CM coach Shonda Marburger said. “The most important thing is to keep the girls bowling whether we have a full roster or not. The more they bowl, the more they will improve. The girls understand that and they make the best of it. Jen Callewaert has shown great improvement from last year. Emily Rager and Kylie Harvey are both new to the team and I look forward to see their scores to continue to rise.”

In junior varsity boys action, Clinton-Massie lost to Franklin 1,725 to 1,627.

Corey Potts had a 338 series (138, 200) to lead the Falcons.

Logan Rauh had 201 (94, 107) and Hunter Broderick had 200 (84, 116). Luke Campbell bowled 166 (83, 83) and John Gehringer had 164 (102, 62).

Baker games were 135, 156, 139, 128.

In the varsity boys match, France had help from Joey Marburger who bowled a 428 series with games of 193 and 235.

Kenton McInerney (180, 191) and Jacob Wellman (216, 155) both had 371 series. Chandler Morsch had games of 160 and 129.

Baker games for the Falcons were 227, 155, 204, 226.

“Last year, we struggled with our baker games and we definitely improved with three out of the four games being above 200,” coach Marburger said.
