Uetrecht 1st team All-Ohio; Barton 3rd team; Messer given HM

Clinton-Massie’s Trey Uetrecht earned first-team All-Ohio honors Tuesday from The Associated Press.

Uetrecht was named to the first team Div. IV defense as a defensive lineman. A 6-2, 225-pound junior defensive end, Uetrecht battled injuries throughout the season but finished with five tackles for loss in seven regular season games.

Wilmington’s Conner Barton in Div. III and Clinton-Massie’s Cody Messer in Div. IV also earned All-Ohio honors Tuesday.

Barton was named to the Div. III third team All-Ohio at offensive line. Messer was given honorable mention. in Div. IV.

All three players were first team All-Southwest District in their respective divisions.

Barton, a 6-2, 280-pound junior lineman, was the top offensive lineman for the Hurricane, which totaled more than 4,000 yards this season.

Messer, a 6-2, 240-pound senior, was the top offensive lineman on the Falcons’ squad this season. Clinton-Massie rushed for 3,046 yards during the regular season.
