State Duals team tournament begins Wednesday for county wrestlers

Clinton-Massie earned the No. 2 seed and will host one of the regional quarterfinal brackets Wednesday in the 2017 OHSAA State Duals Team tournament.

Clinton-Massie will compete in the Division II Region 15 bracket and will host Franklin, New Richmond, Goshen and McClain. The Falcons will wrestle the winner of the match between No. 7 Goshen and No. 10 McClain.

Wilmington, Blanchester and East Clinton also will be competing in the state duals team tournament.

Wilmington will be at Western Brown High School in a Division II Region 15 bracket. The Hurricane, the No. 4 seed, will face No. 5 Fenwick in the opening match at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Western Brown is the No. 1 seed.

Blanchester and East Clinton will be competing in the Division III Region 23 Troy Christian bracket.

East Clinton, the No. 9 seed, will face No. 8 Northridge at 5 p.m. The winner will then face No. 1 seed Troy Christian.

Blanchester is the No. 5 seed and will wrestle National Trail, the No. 4 seed at approximately 6 p.m.

All regional brackets will three rounds on Wednesday. Teams advancing through those rounds will compete again at 5 p.m. Feb. 1 at a site to be determined.
