GEORGETOWN – Blanchester struggled at the offensive end Thursday night in a 49-41 loss to Georgetown in Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division action at Brian Grant Court.

Blanchester drops to 11-10 on the year and 4-6 in the National Division standings. Georgetown is 9-11 overall and 4-5 in the National Division.

“I thought we played pretty well,” BHS coach Bennie Carroll said. “We played hard. We guarded well, except for that one little stretch. We did a decent job of moving the ball.”

Elecia Patton led Blanchester with eight points. Regan Ostermeier scored seven.

Blanchester led 19-17 at halftime.

“We were up two at halftime and probably should have been up 13 or 14,” Carroll lamented.

But the Ladycats extended the lead to 29-20 in the third quarter.

However, the Ladycats went on a dry spell offensively and the Lady G-Men scored eight straight points to pull within one, 29-28.

“They hit a couple of threes and a two in a matter of 40 seconds,” Carroll said. “We kind of lost our discipline for a minute.”

Georgetown’s Kennedy Underwood was the top scorer with 22 points.
