ALLIANCE – The Wilmington College women’s track and field team competed in a Last Chance Meet hosted by the University of Mount Union Saturday.
This was a non-scored meet, allowing student-athletes the opportunity for one last attempt in their events before Ohio Athletic Conference Championships.
Junior Lauren Stacy (Bethel, OH/Western Brown) opened the field events portion of the meet for the Fightin’ Quakers by blowing away the competition in the weight throw. Her toss of 16.01-meters earned first-place.
In the high jump, freshman Keva Cox (Germantown, OH/Valley View) cleared a height of 1.48-meters to earn fifth.
Senior Angela Dorsett (Pittsburgh, PA/West Mifflin) was the lone Fightin’ Quaker to compete in the triple jump. Dorsett placed fourth with a jump of 9.72-meters.
To close the field events, Stacy competed in the shot put. Her put of 12.68-meters earned third-place.
Freshman Emma Burke (Hilliard, OH/Darby) was the top finisher for the Fightin’ Quakers in the the 60-meter hurdles . Her time of 9.69 seconds earned second.
To round out the top-five finishes for the Fightin’ Quakers, in the 800-meter run, freshman Kacey Burns (Milford Center, OH/Fairbanks) earned fifth-place with her time of 2:40.05.
The Fightin’ Quakers will compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Baldwin Wallace University on Friday and Saturday.
