RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — T.J. Cline scored 25 points, including the clinching free throws with four seconds left, and Richmond defeated Oakland 87-83 on Sunday night in the second round of the NIT.

ShawnDre’ Jones and Khwan Fore added 17 each for the sixth-seeded Spiders (22-12), who play at fourth-seeded TCU on Tuesday.

Wilmington High School graduate Jaevin Cumberland finished with 13 points. The Oakland guard made both his three-point attempts along with all seven free throws in 22 minutes of playing time.

A layup by Jones with 1:30 to play put Richmond up 80-79, the 12th lead change. Cline rebounded an Oakland miss and then assisted a layup by Nick Sherod. After another miss, De’Monte Buckingham made two free throws to make it 84-79 with 36.9 to play.

Seconds later, Martez Walker hit a deep 3 and was fouled, cutting the margin to one. But Cline made a free throw with 23.2 to play and rebounded another miss to set up his clinching free throws.

Cline, with his Hall of Fame mom Nancy Lieberman and dad Tim looking on, had three 3s, nine rebounds, six assists, two blocks and two steals.

Walker hit four 3s and had 25 points for the Golden Grizzlies (25-9). Jalen Hayes added 18.
