LONDON — East Clinton pitching hurled a pair of no-hitters Saturday as the Astros easily won a doubleheader at Madison-Plains High School.
East Clinton defeated Shekinah Christian 21-0 in the first game with Sierra Christian and McKenzie Campbell combining for the no-hitter.
In the nightcap, the Lady Astros were 13-2 winners over the Golden Eagles with Christian pitching five no-hit innings.
“Both games were great team wins with contributions from everyone,” coach Matthew Zimmerman said.
Christian pitched eight no-hitting innings, walking five and striking out 11.
Tori Bailey had five hits, including four doubles, and drove in seven runs in two games. Makayla Smith had seven runs batted in and scored six runs despite collecting just one hit.
East Clinton played an error-free game in the opener. East Clinton stole eight bases against Madison-Plains.
