Massie returns to court, falls 5-0 to WCH

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — The Clinton-Massie tennis team opened its season Wednesday with a 5-0 loss to Washington Senior at Gardner Park.

“It’s tough to pit four weeks of practice against four years of experience in an opening league match,” said CM coach Lynn Deatherage. “(Clayton) Amburgy and (Zach) Hammonds had several great rallies on the singles courts. We now have a starting point and a great list of skills to develop.”

The Falcons have not fielded a boys tennis team in the spring the past three seasons.

CM returns to action Monday when they host Hillsboro.
