CEDARVILLE — Blanchester baseball coach Aaron Lawson earned his 100th career win and Gavin Creighton stole the 100th base of his career Saturday in a doubleheader sweep of Cedarville in non-league game at CHS.
“Very special that we were both able to accomplish these on the same day,” said Lawson, who is 100-46 at BHS.
The wins move the Wildcats to 7-5 on the year.
“We played much better baseball all around,” said Lawson. “Pitchers worked from in front and pitched to contact. Defense made plays behind them and if we did have an error we did let it bite us. We put a lot of balls in play hard and had many productive outs. I will trade an out for a run every time. Hopefully we can continue this play over into next week which starts league play again.”
Blake Baker and Eric Patton were the winning pitches for BHS.
Creighton finished with eight stolen bases in the two games. Jack Davidson had seven steals.
Jared Monhollen had three hits and five runs batted in during the two games. Aaron Anderson had five RBI.
