Bulldogs bounce Wildcats 10-2

BATAVIA — The Blanchester baseball team dropped a 10-2 game Tuesday to Batavia in non-league action.

The Wildcats are 11-6 on the year. They will play at Wilmington College Wednesday against Georgetown. A win would give BHS the outright Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division championship. Blanchester is 8-0 against National Division teams.

“We were a couple plays and a few hits away with runners in scoring position of hanging right with them,” BHS coach Aaron Lawson said. “That is the best team we have played this year. They were fundamentally sound and could hit. Our pitchers did not shy away from the strike zone and I commend them for that. Tomorrow is another day and we are able to wrap up the league title against Georgetown. We need to have short memories and come ready to play.”

Jared Monhollen had three hits and drove in a pair of runs for the Wildcats. Robert Rausch had two hits and scored twice.
