BMS boys 4th, girls 9th at Western Brown Inv.

MT. ORAB — The Blanchester Middle School boys track and field team finished fourth and the girls were ninth Monday at the Western Brown Invitational.

For the girls, Haley McEntire was second in the high jump (4-9) and third in the long jump (13-2). She ran with Kenzie Cottle, Becca Kratzer and Shilynn Massey and finished third in the 4×100-meter relay (59.0).

Kratzer was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.8 seconds) and Cottle was fifth in the 100-meter dash (14.1). Regan Grogg had a personal best effort and finished eighth in the discus.

For the boys, Shane Smith won the 110-meter hurdles in 18 seconds and fourth in the 200-meter hurdles (31.1). Blake Richard landed a 16-6.25 jump and won the long jump. The 4×100-meter relay team clocked 50.0 and won that event.

Carter Stevens was fourth in the 110 hurdles (19.0) and Brady Phillips was fifth in the 100-meter dash (12.8).
