LEES CREEK — Down 12-4 going to the fifth, McClain rallied with 10 runs in the final three innings Wednesday and defeated East Clinton 14-12 in South Central Ohio League baseball action at ECHS.

East Clinton drops to 4-12 overall and 1-10 in the SCOL.

Brandon Vaughn came off the EC bench to drive in three runs. Zach Mitchell had three hits, scored twice and drove in two. Austin Arellano also knocked in two teammates.

However the Astros did not score over the final three innings and lost the big lead and the game.

“We hit the ball well,” EC coach Brian Carey said. “We couldn’t put the nail in the coffin. We were up eight runs. The momentum changed on some close calls and McClain took advantage. We have to keep our heads up after that one and get them tomorrow at their place.”
