WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — A day after a no-hitter, Courtney Smart had five hits to lead Wilmington to a 19-2 win over Washington Wednesday in South Central Ohio League softball action at WSHS.

Wilmington is 10-8 overall and 8-4 in the league.

Smart, who no-hit Hillsboro on Tuesday, had five hits and drove in three runs against the Blue Lions.

That was more than enough for pitcher Madi Flint, who limited Washington to a pair of hits. She struck out seven and did not walk a batter.

“Madi threw very well,” WHS coach Glen Blessing said. “Just like Courtney did (Tuesday), Madi got ahead of hitters early in the count.”

Olivia Veidt and Kacy Younker had three hits each. Lyla Self scored three runs and Kendra McKenna drove in three runs. Younker had four RBI.

“We hit the ball very well,” Blessing said of his team’s 23-hit attack. “The girls showed good discipline at the plate.”
