Massie’s Florea first team All-Ohio; three others honored

Clinton-Massie’s Taylor Florea was named to the first team Division II All-Ohio fast-pitch softball team by the Ohio High School Fast-pitch Softball Coaches Association.

Florea and her Lady Falcons teams will play Greenville 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mason High School in a Division II Region 8 semifinal game.

Clinton-Massie’s Hailey Clayborn was named second team Division II All-Southwest District while Wilmington’s Hunter Toller was given honorable mention all-district in Division II and East Clinton’s Victoria Bailey was given honorable mention all-district in Division III.

Toller hit .438 to lead the Lady Hurricane this season. She had three homeruns and 19 runs batted in, with eight doubles, a triple and 11 runs scored.

Bailey hit .622 for the Lady Astros with 27 runs batted in.

Clayborn is hitting .465 with 26 runs batted in for Clinton-Massie.

Both Toller and Clayborn are catches. Bailey plays third base.

Florea, who also was a first team All-Southwest District selection, was the top pitcher and hitter for Clinton-Massie this season. She has a 23-1 record as a pitcher with 164 strikeouts this season. Her team-best batting average is .581.
