Wilmington College women’s basketball player Mackenzie Campbell has been the named the Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week.

Campbell averaged 18.0 points and 9.5 rebounds as Wilmington won both games this week to advance to the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament.

She made the biggest play in Wednesday’s win over Muskingum with a steal and fastbreak layup to give WC a four-point lead, and finished the game with 21 points on 8-of-9 shooting and 5-of-6 from the foul line with nine rebounds.

In Wilmington’s upset of Mount Union Saturday, the freshman guard added 15 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth career double-double.

This marks the first time Campbell has earned the league’s weekly honor, and the second time this season, a WC women’s basketball player has won the laurel. She ended the regular season leading all OAC freshmen in points and rebounds.
