NEW ORLEANS – The Wilmington College women’s cross country team picked up academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Fightin’ Quakers posted the third highest grade point average in the country with a 3.73 GPA.
“Making the All-Academic team is one of our team goals each season,” said Wilmington head coach Ron Combs. “Very proud of the work the girls did in their classes this year. It’s a great accomplishment by a great group of girls to see their team GPA up near the top in Division III cross country.”
Overall, 207 women’s team finished the semester with a 3.1 GPA or higher to earn the academic award. The University of Dubuque earned the top GPA (3.739), followed by Pomona-Pitzer (3.739) and Wilmington (3.7).
