Quakers doubled-up by Eastern Nazarene 12-6

FT. MYERS, Fla. — The Wilmington College baseball team scattered 11 hits, but committed eight errors, and fell to Eastern Nazerene Tuesday, 12-6, in their third day of the 2016 Gene Cusic Classic.

Freshman Jake Hyatt collected his team-leading 11th run batted in with a two-out double in the third, scoring freshman Wade Gillette.

Trailing 9-1 in the sixth, Wilmington showed some two-out life. Hyatt led the inning off with a single, and moved to third on a two-out single by senior Max Ramsey. Freshman Jarett Trautman singled for his first career RBI, and then senior Corey Walker loaded the bases with a bunt single.

Freshman Antonio Miller brought home two for his first career RBIs with another single. He finished the day 2-for-2 with a career-high three RBI.

Walker and Trautman were both 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored, while Hyatt was 2-for-5 with an RBI with a run scored.

Freshman Ryan Collett (1-1) took the loss, allowing six runs (two earned) on three hits in 2 1/3 innings. Sophomore Tyler McDaniel continued his great start to the season. He allowed his first hit of the season, but has now gone 7 1/3 innings without allowing an earned run.
