The Wilmington College softball team swept a doubleheader Wednesday with Hanover, winning 9-8 and 4-2, at the WC Softball Complex.

In the first game, the top of the Quakers lineup was money as Savannah Hooper, Courtney Mackey, Jessie Stewart and Chandler Fields combined to go 11-for-21 with five runs scored and nine runs batted in.

Mackey and Stewart had three hits each. Warren and Mackey drove in three runs each.

Beth Persicano came in to pitch the final 2 2/3 innings and registered her first win. She followed Becca Carpenter and Megan Joyner to the mound for WC.

In the second game, Allison Pierce (1-1) and Carpenter (2nd save) combined to scatter six hits. Carpenter went the final two innings to record the save.

Warren had another three-hit performance while Hooper, Whitney Edwards and Pierce had two hits each. Hooper also stole two bases for WC.
