Income tax bureau virus policy
To help slow the spread of coronavirus, the City of Wilmington Income Tax Office will remain closed to walk-in customers for the duration of the health emergency. The closure goes into effect immediately.
Office staff ask that you use these alternative options to file your city taxes or to make payments:
• Mail to Income Tax Bureau, P.O. Box 786, Wilmington, OH 45177
• A drop box inside the tax office (South Street door)
• On-line payments, via the Income Tax page at www.wilmingtonoh.org
“We can also limit the communal spread by assisting you via telephone conversation at 937-382-1880,” said Wilmington Tax Commissioner Marque V. Jones.
Info on Budget Commission requests
The Budget Commission has decided to hold all requests for March 2020 until the next regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, April 15.

Senior Center closed; services continue
The Wilmington Savings Bank Clinton County Senior Center operated by Clinton County Community Action Program, Inc. is closed as a facility until further notice. The center will continue to provide services to seniors as long as possible.

Clinton County Reads’ opening event cancelled
The Wednesday, March 18 book discussion planned as part of Clinton County Reads 2020 has been cancelled. Please be advised that information will be forthcoming in the News Journal about the other Clinton County Reads events, some of which may be held online.
UMC Lenten lunch cancelled
he Lenten lunch for Wednesday, March 18 at the Wilmington United Methodist Church has been cancelled.
EC kindergarten registration postponed
Kindergarten registration at East Clinton Local Schools that was scheduled to occur in March has been postponed. You will be contacted by Mrs. Luttrell with details when a plan is established.

Children turning 5 on or before Sept. 30 are eligible to enroll in kindergarten at East Clinton.
Updated CCW hours
Effective Wednesday, March 18, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office will re-instate the processing of concealed carry (CCW) license applications and renewals by appointment only.
Appointments will be scheduled for Tuesdays,Wednesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Appointments will be scheduled in 30-minute intervals.
To schedule an appointment, please call 937-382-1611 during normal business hours and ask for Patti or Josh.
National Webcheck background checks will continue to be suspended until further notice.
Any questions you have concerning COVID-19 should be directed to the Ohio Department of Health’s Hotline at 1-833-427-5634. The Hotline hours for operation are seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
History Center closed; CCGS meeting cancelled
The Clinton County History Center museum and genealogical library are closed until further notice. The March meeting of the Clinton County Genealogy has been cancelled. Also, the genealogy library will be closed for the present.
No April Fools 5K
The Health Alliance of Clinton County has decided to cancel the April Fool’s 5K/1 mile event.
Statewide tornado drill canceled
With concerns over COVID-19 and with large populations sheltered at home, the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness is cancelling the planned Statewide Tornado Drill which was part of Spring Severe Weather Awareness Week.
It had been scheduled for 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 25.
