LONDON — The East Clinton wrestling program, from youth on up, competed against Madison-Plains Thursday night.
The varsity Astros forfeited four weight classes. They won four of seven contested matches but lost the overall match 57-24.
Curtis Singleton at 144, Thomas Hood at 175 and Mason Rack at 215 all recorded pins for EC.
Carly Bazaldua was East Clinton’s only female wrestler and she competed in her first-ever varsity match.
The junior high boys and girls wrestled together with Xyla Scott and Austin Singer winning their matches by pin. For Scott, it was her first wrestling victory.
The varsity girls will compete Saturday in the Dreamcatcher tournament at Springfield Northwestern High School.
The junior high school squad will be at the Shawnee Invitational on Saturday.
The varsity boys will wrestle Dec. 22-23 in the Southwest Ohio Wrestling Coaches Association Coaches Classic at Middletown High School.
