Falcons open season with 3-0 triumph over Lions

ADAMS TOWNSHIP — Jack Thamann had a shutout and Sam Massie recorded a goal and an assist Friday as Clinton-Massie defeated Fairfield 3-0 in boys soccer action at Frank Irelan Field.

Thamann made seven saves in goal in the season opener for the Falcons.

Clinton-Massie controlled possession early. After several corner kicks, the Falcons cashed in when Sam Massie headed home an assist from Gleb Luce.

Massie then turned playmaker, threading a ball between the Lions midfield and defense leading to a goal by Wyatt Coblentz.

Thamann then assisted on Kennedy Morgan’s final goal of the night.
