BLANCHESTER — Despite controlling play, the Blanchester girls soccer team had to rally for a 2-1 win Saturday over Southeastern at Barbour Memorial Field.

Coach Kyle Hamilton said the Wildcats controlled the ball most of the game with many shots on goal.

But the Trojans scored on a breakaway goal midway through the first half for a 1-0 lead.

Blanchester tied the match 1-1 with Rylee Griffith scoring a goal with an assist to McKenzie Blankenbeckler.

I the second half, Griffith scored again, this time on an assist from Kendall Koch.

“I’m proud of how we played the entire match by dominating possession,” Hamilton said. “It’s always good to start off the season with a win, especially at home. The girls are working hard and we are trying to get better as a team each day.”
