OSP releases Wilmington OVI checkpoint results

WILMINGTON — The Ohio State Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Wilmington Police Department and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, conducted an OVI checkpoint on US 22 in the Wilmington on Friday from 9-11 p.m. A total of 617 vehicles were checked with one vehicle being diverted for suspicion of OVI, according to an OSP news release.

No drivers were determined to be under the influence and were arrested for OVI, according to OSP.

In addition to the actual checkpoint officers, additional officers from participating agencies conducted saturation patrols in the area before and after the checkpoint.

Federal grant money supported the OVI checkpoint and saturation patrols.
