WHS tennis takes match with WB on home court

WILMINGTON — In a hard-fought match, the Wilmington High School tennis team defeated Western Brown 3-2 in SBAAC American Division play.

“The big takeaway for me is how well we competed when we were behind,” WHS coach Doug Cooper said.

Wilmington is 2-2 on the year, 2-1 in American Division competition.

The Ohio Tennis Coaches Association team tournament match with Archbishop Alter, postponed from Friday, will be played Tuesday on the WHS courts.

Cooper said Sofia Castillo was “mentally tough and able to make adjustments in the second set” while Kiley Comberger and Jenna Pletcher are “getting better every time out.”
