Batavia bounces Wilmington in 3 sets at FSC

WILMINGTON — In the SBAAC American Division opener, Wilmington lost to Batavia 11-25, 23-25, 19-25 Tuesday night at Fred Summers Court.

Coach Stephanie Reveal said the Hurricane came out timid and made mistakes and missed serves. “That haunts us still,” she said.

After a lackluster opening set, Wilmington (1-1, 0-1) was in the second and third set but came up short.

“We are still trying to figure things out,” Reveal said. “I have a lot of girls that haven’t seen this speed of a game before. Once it clicks, we will be alright.”

Miya Nance led WHS with 10 kills. Layla Reynolds had six digs and Aidynne Tippett finished with 23 set assists.
