Football takes center stage Thursday in the Clinton County History Center’s “The Scoreboard Speaks” speaker series.

Mike “Big Daddy” Wilson, Bill Anders and Andy Olds lead a panel discussion about football 7 p.m. Thursday in the McCoy Room on the Wilmington College campus.

Wilson, a 1965 graduate of Wilmington High School, was an inaugural member of the Clinton County Sports Hall of Fame. He played in five professional football leagues after graduating from the University of Dayton — the American Football League, the World Football League, the National Football League, the Canadian Football League and the United States Football League. He was named outstanding lineman of the CFL three times.

Anders, a 1963 graduate of Sabina High School, was an inaugural member of the Clinton County Sports Hall of Fame and was recently inducted into the Ohio State University Athletics Hall of Fame. Despite never playing football in high school, Anders walked on at Ohio State and established several program records as a receiver for Woody Hayes and the Buckeyes.

Olds, an East Clinton High School graduate, coached 21 years at Kings High School and posted a 179-58 record. He led the Knights to league championships 13 times. He was inducted into the Clinton County Sports Hall of Fame in 2013 and the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association earlier this year.
