WILMINGTON — The Clinton County Convention and Visitors Bureau extends a heartfelt thanks to everyone who generously donated to the “Teachers Rock” campaign. Thanks to these contributions, schools across the district received totes filled with essential school supplies, which were collected during the Rock the Block event in July.

In addition to supporting local educators, the Convention and Visitors Bureau presented checks to local school athletic programs and organizations. East Clinton High School received a $500 check for its cheer team in recognition of their efforts in helping distribute “Teachers Rock” t-shirts and swag bags to educators during the event.

The Wilmington varsity volleyball team was awarded a check for $2,075 for their successful t-shirt sales at the Rock the Block Wilmington event.

The Convention and Visitors Bureau also gave a big thank you to the Wilmington Lacrosse Academy clean-up crew by presenting them with a check for $1,500 in appreciation of their hard work.

The checks were presented by director Susan Valentine Scott, of the Convention and Visitors Bureau and executive assistant Melissa Hedrick.
