Robinson, Boone lead Falcons to third SBAAC win

Clinton-Massie’s Grace Boone and Charlotte Robinson

HAMERSVILLE — Charlotte Robinson and Grace Boone shared medalist honors Monday in the SBAAC girls golf match at Friendly Meadows Golf Course.

Robinson and Boone came in with 39s as the Falcons carded a season-best team total of 167.

“Char was locked in all day and has started to strike the ball well in the last couple of matches,” Clinton-Massie coach James Brady said. “She had one putt hanging on the edge of the cup that if it had fallen would have given her another stroke.”

Of Boone, Brady said, “Grace has also been working through some swing changes this season and might have unlocked her driver (today). She hit some mammoth drives and had an excellent par save on No. 5 when she was up against a tree, punching it out to about 15 feet and sinking the putt.”

Boone is the leader among individuals and Massie remains on top in the team standings.

Stormie Stroud had a 43 for Clinton-Massie while Rylee Long came in with 46, Sammi VanPelt 49 and Lauren Edwards 63.

“If we can put rounds like this together consistently over the next few weeks, I like our shot to get out of sectionals as a team,” said Brady.
