WILMINGTON, OHIO — The Clinton County Farmers Market is celebrating its 25 anniversary season with a variety of goods and activities for the community. The market has become a beloved tradition, offering everything from fresh produce, meat, and honey to sweets, alongside a lively atmosphere complete with live music most weeks. Located on the Main Street side of the Clinton County Courthouse, between South and Walnut streets in downtown Wilmington, the market is easily accessible for all.

Elise Snarr, the organizer of the Clinton County Farmers Market, expressed her excitement about this milestone year. “We offer a wide variety of goods, from produce, meat, and honey to sweets. Our customers also seem to really enjoy the live music we have at the market most weeks. We have a couple of special events coming up,” Snarr said.

As the 2024 season begins to wind down, several themed events are planned for the remaining weeks:

-Sept. 14- First Responders Day: Local law enforcement and emergency vehicles will be at the market for all to learn about and enjoy.

– Sept. 21 – Kids’ Market: This day will spotlight young entrepreneurs ages 7-17 who have applied and been accepted to participate. These young vendors will be selling products they have made or produced themselves.

– Sept. 28 – Future of Agriculture Day: “We will invite the youth in the county involved in agriculture to come and share their experience and projects. Organizations such as 4-H and Wilmington College Ag Department will be joining us,” said Snarr.

– Oct. 5 – Art at the Market: Local artists will showcase their talents with a variety of artworks and crafts for sale, bringing a creative flair to the market.

The market will run until Oct. 19, marking the final market day for the 2024 season. Snarr added, “We really appreciate our customers celebrating 25 years with us. It’s been a great season so far!”

In addition to these themed events, the Clinton County Farmers Market is proud to partner with the Clinton County Health Department/WIC. According to the farmers market website, the market hosts WIC staff on various dates to support participants in the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. Recipients receive $30 in vouchers through the WIC Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program to purchase healthy, locally-grown fruits and vegetables.

The market also accepts Senior Farmers’ Market cards from eligible seniors, thanks to the Senior Farm Market Nutrition Program run by the Ohio Department of Aging, a new change this year.
