BATAVIA, OHIO — A three-vehicle accident in Clermont County Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of a 51-year-old Blanchester woman, according to the Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).

The preliminary investigation reportedly showed that on Tuesday at approximately 2:04 p.m., a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic — driven by Robert Sherman, 26, of Mount Orab — was stopped south on Herold Road at State Route 32. A 2020 Lincoln Navigator — driven by Jenny Stahl, 71, of Blanchester — was heading east on State Route 32. A 2019 Infiniti QX60 — driven by Miles Harrigan, 58, of Aberdeen — was stopped northbound on Herold Road.

According to OSHP, the vehicle driven by Sherman entered the intersection and was struck by Stahl’s vehicle. The Chevrolet Sonic then struck the Infiniti QX60 and came to rest. The Lincoln Navigator traveled off the right side of the roadway and down an embankment before coming to rest.

A passenger in Sherman’s vehicle — Tassie Sherman — sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was declared deceased at Clermont Mercy Hospital, according to OSHP.

Robert Sherman was treated at the scene with minor injuries. An additional passenger in Sherman’s vehicle — Denise Harris, 71, of Mount Orab — sustained serious injuries and was transported by squad to the University of Cincinnati Hospital.

Stahl was transported by squad to the UC Hospital with minor injuries, according to OSHP. A passenger in her vehicle — 18-year-old Peyton Stahl, of Goshen — was also transported by squad to UC Hospital with minor injuries.

Harrigan was transported by squad to Bethesda North Hospital with minor injuries. A passenger in his vehicle — Deana Couture, 58, of Medina — was also transported by squad to Bethesda North Hospital with minor injuries.

The OSHP was assisted at the scene by the Batavia Police Department, Central Joint Fire and EMS, and Williamsburg Fire and EMS.

The crash remains under investigation.
