GEORGETOWN — East Clinton’s Jackson Seabaugh finished fourth in the varsity boys race at the Vern Hawkins Invitational.
“This is what you would call a ‘true cross country’ course with woods, hills and green grass,” EC head coach Josh Simmons said.
Seabaugh ran 19:31.3 and helped the boys place fifth overall in the meet despite missing two of its normal top five runners, said Simmons.
“This is the first time this year the Astros have endured a course full of hills,” said Simmons. “They gave great effort as always.”
East Clinton competed in all four races while Clinton-Massie ran in the two middle school events.
In the varsity girls race, Carman Brown was the only local runner, placing 21st.
In the middle school boys race, Jaxson Manning of East Clinton was 21st while Rylin Clark of Clinton-Massie was 22nd.
On the girls side, Ally George of East Clinton was 20th and Nina McHale of Clinton-Massie was 25th as the top runners for each school.
