Wilmington runners have solid day at Legacy Ambassador Invitational

XENIA — Wilmington competed Saturday in the Legacy Ambassador Invitational on the campus of Legacy Christian.

“Today was our first time running at Xenia and we weren’t sure how the course would shake out,” Wilmington coach Karen Heslop said. “As coaches, we are really proud of how our athletes attacked the numerous hills.”

The result, Heslop said, was two personal bests, five season bests and two runners in their first-ever meet.

Max McCoy and Alexa Benitez were the top high school runners.

Josey King was ninth in the middle school girls race while Tad Shidaker was 17th in the middle school boys race.
