Batavia gains measure of Wilmington in 4-set match

BATAVIA — Winning for the third straight match, Batavia defeated Wilmington 25-18, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18 Tuesday in SBAAC American Division volleyball.

The Hurricane is 1-5 in the division while the Bulldogs are 5-1 and trail frontrunner New Richmond by one game.

“We did a better job of making smart decisions but stretches of missed serves and not being aggressive on the ball is our worst enemy,” WHS coach Stephanie Reveal said.

Aidynne Tippett had a solid night all-around, leading the team with 11 points, 30 assists, five aces and the lone block. Layla Reynolds had 11 digs while Miya Nance put down 15 kills.
