The East Clinton freshman volleyball team lost to Clinton-Massie 24-26, 16-25 on Wednesday at Brian P. Mudd Court.
On Saturday, East Clinton played in a tournament at Miamisburg. EC opened with Fenwick and lost 12-25, 6-25. The Astros lost a player due to injury during the match. Against Middletown, East Clinton won the first set 25-22 but lost the next two 7-25, 10-25. Against Miamisburg, the young Astros came up short 12-25, 19-25.
During each match, coach Rhylee Luttrell said, East Clinton players performed well but were not able to pull out a victory.
On Sept. 4, East Clinton lost to Wilmington 7-25, 23-25. After a slow start, the Astros picked it up in the second set and battled to the end, Luttrell said.
