LaGrange, CNE win the day in National Division match at Elks 797 GC

WILMINGTON — Williamsburg’s Karson LaGrange was medalist and Clermont Northeastern was the top team in the SBAAC National Division boys golf match Thursday at the Elks 797 Golf Club.

LaGrange had a 35 and CNE finished with 172.

East Clinton had its low score of the season with a 179 and finished third overall.

“The sophomores on our team have really stepped up their game and dedication, resulting in continuous improvements,” East Clinton coach Thomas Sodini said.

Kaiden Roth had a season-best round of 42 for the Astros. Mitchell Ellis had a 44 while Wade Smith shot 46 and Gabe Stewart had a 47. Also, Colt Burgess came in at 57 while Jamison “The Man” Matthews posted a 59.

Evan Malott had a 38 for Blanchester while Eason Jones came in with 54, Cole Mueller shot 42, Brian White had 50 and Logan Waldron carded 57.

LaGrange continues to be the top individual, with a 191 to 212 lead over Malott. Ellis of East Clinton is seventh.

The Rockets of CNE are the top team with a 931. Bethel-Tate is second at 952. East Clinton is sixth and has an eight-stroke lead over Blanchester.
