Wildcats bounce back after Thursday loss with 3-0 win Saturday

WASHINGTON CH — Evelyn Kohler scored two goals and Blanchester defeated Washington Senior 3-0 Saturday in a non-league soccer match in Fayette County.

“This was a great game for us, bouncing back to win after a loss to Massie on Thursday,” Blanchester coach Kyle Hamilton said. “The girls responded well and our midfield did a great job of dominating possession, keeping the ball on offense.”

The Wildcats are 5-4 on the year.

“We had great leadership today, keeping the shutout and great play from some of the younger girls getting us the goals,” said Hamilton. “A great team win.”

Kohler’s goals came in the first half with Miranda Keith getting an assist on each goal. Laylla Sears scored in the second half with Kennedy Renick getting the assist.

Karlee Tipton and Ava Lanham split halves in the goal and earned the shutout with one save each.
