Hurricane outduels Tigers in boys soccer match 3-2

WILMINGTON — In a battle of teams near the top of their respective SBAAC divisions, Wilmington edged Bethel-Tate 3-2 Wednesday at Alumni Field.

The Hurricane is 8-3 in all matches and is in a three-way tie for first in the American Division.

The Tigers are 7-2-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the National Division, just a half game back of leader Williamsburg.

With his fifth two-goal game of the season, Ben Angelica is heating up as the Hurricane won for the seventh time in the last eight matches.

Bryce Vilvens had a goal and also is a red-hot goal scorer for the Hurricane. He has now scored in eight straight games and nine of the team’s 11 contests this season.

Jason Tecu handed out two assists. Zander Johnson also was credited with a helper.
