MIDDLETOWN — The golf season for Blanchester and East Clinton ended Monday in the Division III Sectional boys golf tournament at Browns Run Golf Course.
The Astros were eighth in the sectional, finishing with a 420 team total.
Gabe Stewart posted the low score for East Clinton with a 96 (49-47).
“A big improvement compared to previous 18-hole rounds he has played,” EC coach Thomas Sodini said.
Mitchell Ellis, the lone senior on the roster, had a 102 (51-51) while Wade Smith totaled 107 (49-58). Kaiden Roth (53-62) and Jamison Mathews (53-62) carded 115s for the Astros. For Mathews, it was a personal best 18-hole score.
Blanchester was 13th in the tournament.
Evan Malott had a 94 for the Wildcats, posting scores of 46 and 48.
Cole Mueller had 112 (58-52), Brian White had 113 (65-48) and Eason Jones had 128 (64-64).
Karson LaGrange of Williamsburg had a 79 and was the first individual on a non-qualifying team to advance to the district tournament.
