Fourteen members of the St. Columbkille Church ladies’ group, Sacred Heart Sodality, donated 100 wreaths for the “Wreaths Across America.” event. These wreaths will stay in Clinton County for veterans’ graves at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
The George Clinton Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution will place the wreaths on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 9 a.m. Wreath placement will begin immediately following the ceremony.
The purpose of the Wreaths Across America is to “Remember, Honor, Teach,” the next generation to teach the value of our freedoms and the veterans who served our country. For more information about this program, visit the website: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org
In other business, the ladies donated money to the Clinton County Youth Council for after school snacks, Hope House, and St. Vincent dePaul for hats, gloves, and coats for children.
