Blanchester High School announces homecoming week activities

Blanchester High School will celebrate its homecoming festivities Sept. 30-Oct. 5. The week’s theme is “Unleashing Our Element,” and will kick off with the following daily themes for Spirit Week:

Monday – Class Color (seniors – light blue, juniors – aquatic blue, sophomores – neon pink, freshmen – heather red)

Tuesday – Rhyme Without Reason (two people dress up in something that rhymes – example “Someone dresses up as Hannah Montana and another person dresses up as a banana”

Wednesday – White Lie – Wear a white t-shirt and write a “white lie” about yourself on it

Thursday – Element Day – Fire vs. Water and Earth vs. Air

Friday – Homecoming Shirt Day (which are black) or a black shirt for a blackout

Float building is currently underway, and each class’s float will be on display during the parade on Thursday, Oct. 3 beginning at 6 p.m. The parade will start at People’s Bank and conclude at the high school.

The homecoming court was selected by the high school student body. Here are the 2024 fall representatives:

Freshman – Male – Frankie McIntosh, Female – Bryssa Ertel

Sophomore – Male – Kyler Johnson, Female – Natalie Naylor

Juniors – Male – Nicholas (LJ) Rineair, Female – Jocelyn Lansing

Senior Female Court: Audri Byrom, Gloria Caplinger, Addie Jones, Vida Martinelli, and Rachel Stoll

Senior Male Court: Bryce Burress, Tristen Malone, Evan Malott, Hunter Montgomery, and Sammy Roush

The king and queen will be announced before the Friday night homecoming game against Williamsburg on Friday, Oct. 4. The game will begin at 7 p.m. at the high school.

Homecoming week will conclude with a homecoming dance at the high school on Saturday, Oct. 5 beginning at 7:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
