BLANCHESTER — Kendall Koch’s late goal backed Karlee Tipton’s shutout goalkeeping Wednesday in Blanchester’s 1-0 win over Felicity in girls soccer action at Barbour Memorial Field.

Tipton had four saves as the Wildcats recorded their sixth shutout of the season.

Blanchester is 8-6 overall and 3-5 in the SBAAC National Division.

Neither team scored in the first half of the match which was billed as Youth Night with young soccer players being honored.

“This was a scrappy and muddy mess of a game,” Hamilton said. “Both teams fought hard and I’m just happy the girls were able to break through and get the goal for the win, especially on Youth Night in front of a big crowd.”

The only score of the night came with approximately 10 minutes remaining when Addy Lewis served a corner kick that was converted by Koch into the back of the net.

“After winning only one game last year it’s been pretty special for the girls to get their eighth win on the year,” Hamilton said.

Blanchester will host Lynchburg-Clay Tuesday in its annual Kick for the Cure matchup.
